Job Description

Sequence is seeking two mid-level to senior level Industrial Electrician to work on 2nd and 3nd shifts for one of the region's most progressive heavy manufacturing and processing operations. Based out of Cornwall, PA these positions report directly to the Head of Electrical Maintenance and Plant Engineer and are consider important assets to the operation.

We are specifically looking to hire individuals capable of handling general electrical maintenance and troubleshooting in a heavy industrial environment. This ranges from 24 volts or 110-volt control to 480 volts 3 phase distribution. Also with a focus on supply and operation of recognized industrial electrical components such as conduit, fittings, 3 phase motor starters, motor overload assemblies, contactors, fuses and circuit breakers.

Having experience, or willingness to learn, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and how they are electrically controlled would also be a strong plus to consideration for the role.

-     Able with Medium Voltage (480 volt) 3-Phase electrical distribution.
-     Familiarity with electrical test equipment and tools, and the application of those tools to operate in a safe environment.
-     Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings and basic PLC ladder diagrams.
-     Capable with motor control, and control devices such as photo eyes, limit switches, momentary start/stop stations

Desired skills include the ability to troubleshoot and do diagnoses of issues and problem as well as anticipate potential future problems. Key is determining the root causes of any failures and then working to choose the best repair options available. Ideally, this is coupled with the ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of possible situations; because systems and equipment are sometimes unique, mechanics in the operation need to be flexible and innovative.

The Mechanic serves as key member on the shift team charged with troubleshooting and repairs of all equipment and some physical building systems maintenance. This is focused on day-to-day operations, but also includes carrying out efforts for the organizations ongoing preventative maintenance programs. So daily tasks include service and repair with select days dedicated to preventative maintenance for processing equipment and machinery.

The operation places high value on its electricians and maintenance personnel and equipment as the lifeblood of its business.

Key here is a focus on maximizing the output and utilization of plant equipment and production efficiency through yield. The only thing that takes precedence over productivity and efficiency is employee health and safety. The organizations maintenance personnel are considered a very large part of the organizations overall success.

While company personnel work as needed to get things done, they strive to hire smart and organized electricians. So they work safe and extremely hard, but they work smart. Long hours are sometimes necessary, but longer than necessary hours and stress normally reflect lack of planning and capabilities rather than lack of resources. If that statement made sense to you, then you are the right type of individual for this organization.

These roles can be A, B or C Level Electricians, and the ideal candidate would have some secondary schooling/vocational training and at least 2 to 3+ years working experience. While secondary schooling and/or vocational training would be a plus to consideration, the important thing here though is abilities; book learning is important and always valued, but not necessarily a replacement for capabilities and motivation.
