Acoustical Engineer / Consultant
Sequence has been exclusively retained and is currently seeking a talented Acoustical Engineer or Acoustical Consultant to manage small to mid-sized projects and work as part of a team on larger scale acoustical endeavors. This is currently the highest profile position of its type within the niche acoustical market in Chicago and the greater regional area.

Today we are specifically seeking a talented mid- to senior level professional to join their acoustical practice. The role requires technical proficiency, client relationship management, project management and project delivery.
Key duties include:
- Project management of smaller to mid-sized projects and participation in larger scale endeavors as part of a project team.
- Carrying out technical work meeting company and professional standards - ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
- Conducting site visits, collecting data, performing calculating and modeling.
- Project communication and authoring reports.
- Maintaining client relationships and fostering repeat business or cross-selling services.
- Proposal Development with Senior Staff.
The position is a result of expansion efforts. The organization often doesn't hire and works to avoid the up and down nature of feast and famine of work which can lead to a cycle of hiring and layoffs of personnel. So this is a stable and long-term addition to the acoustical team. It is also one that has potential to grow within the firm or get on a future principal track.
The ideal candidate would have at least 2 - 5+ years or more of acoustical / mechanical / and/or related experience with ability to apply to building, transportation or related noise engagements.
A degree in acoustics, mechanical engineering, acoustics, architecture or domain related field is desired, but hands-on experience and abilities will take precedence over class room education. Proficiency with sound and vibration measurement equipment and techniques, acoustical modeling software and analysis. Key here is domain knowledge of building systems and construction methods and interpret drawings/blueprints with the ability to communicate with architects, engineers and contractors.
